I've been riding a bike all my life, but in anger for around 10 years. I've raced competitively to a good level and used the challenge of the sport to raise considerable funds for charities close to my heart. The adrenaline, the feeling of achievement and the focus required to perform are all driving factors, all underpinned by competitiveness and a social bubble that's hugely valuable to me.
Now, I mostly ride for escapism, mindfulness and fitness with life on two wheels providing a natural balance to a busy work-life in London. Day to day, I work for the pinnacle road cycling publication in the market - Rouleur - which gives me a unique insight and perspective into my sport. I see how brands sell products and themselves and how professionals grow their own personal intellectual properties.
For 2020, I'm looking to take a bit more of the road less travelled. Leave the tarmac and the traffic to rediscover the reasons I fell in love with cycling and the outdoors in the first place.
